When communities are shaken, it’s often the smallest hands that feel the weight the most.

This month, the Ceylon Teachers Service Union launched “සහකම්පිත සෙනෙහසේ තරණය”, an initiative to support schools in the Kandy and Matale districts after the recent devastating floods.

Through the PBSS Foundation, we joined this effort with quiet purpose and genuine care. PBSS contributed LKR 500,000 worth of school items and stationery to help children return to learning with dignity, confidence and hope.

The initiative was spearheaded by Dr. Madura Gamanayake, Chairman of PBSS Group, and Ms. Anjana Wijesinghe, Group CEO, who guided the Foundation’s involvement and ensured our support reached the organizers for distribution. These essential items will be handed over to the affected schools on the 12th, 13th and 14th of December 2025.

This effort reminded us of a simple truth.

Even in difficult moments, compassion has a way of moving forward. And when we come together for the well-being of our communities, recovery becomes a shared journey and hope grows stronger.
